Desmond Elliot is a Nigerian actor, director, and politician elected to the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency, in the country’s general elections on April 11, 2015. He rose to prominence following his roles in several Nigerian movies.

Desmond Elliot was born on February 4, 1974, into a Yoruba family as the first child of late Pa. Ezekiel Sunday Elliot. His father was also known by the name Sunny boy of Texas. Desmond’s father was from Olowogobowo in Lagos Island, whereas his mother was from Illah in Oshimili North, Delta State.
He attended Air Force Primary School for his elementary education at Jos. After completing primary school, he continued his studies at St. John’s College in Jos.

Desmond Elliot declared his intention to represent the All Progressives Congress in the Lagos State House of Assembly in September 2014.
In April 2015, Nigeria held its general elections. Desmond participated and won the Surulere Constituency.
Desmond was criticized in October 2020 during the End SARS protest for allegedly supporting a bill banning social media in Nigeria. He had earlier denied the allegations when the news first circulated online.
The Surulere Constituency 1 representative Desmond Elliot won re-election to the state legislature for a third term.
Despite being nominated by the APC party without opposition during his two terms in office, he will face stiff competition in the general elections of 2023 as several candidates, including Honorable Barakat Bakare Akande, the current Council leader of Surulere Local Government, have declared their intention to run for the ticket.
