Richards Bay F.C. Ready For Continental Football In 2023

In terms of games and the form of the players, everything seems to be going well for the Richards Bay F.C. lately. The team was able to showcase excellent performance in the recent South African Premier Division which is officially referred to as DStv Premiership.

It is the highest league system in all of South Africa. The club was able to perform really well all through the championship and had been in the second and third position during most of the campaign.

With such an impressive game and multiple wins, it is sure that the team is more than close to qualifying for continental football and will be able to play the game of the 2022-23 season.

Currently, Richards Bay F.C. is in the third position in point ranking. The team had played a total of 19 games and just from these 19 games, they were able to secure 31 points, which put them in the third position.

If the team succeeds in sustaining its position at this place or could even jump up to the second position, the team will qualify for the CAF Champions League or Confederations cup.

As the team is in great form and is expected to have an easy qualification for continental football, the coach of the club Manousakis was shocked with a statement in a press conference.

According to him, he is not sure whether the team is ready for that or not. He also added that this does not mean that they are ‘taking their foot off the pedal” which means that the team will not be backing down in their journey forward.

Even though it is a major achievement for the team, there is a clear reason behind the decision made by Manousakis. Before joining Richards Bay, Manousakis was a part of the AmaZulu team which was led by Benni McCarthy.

During the last season, the team was able to make it to the group stages in the Champions League. While they made progress there, they also had to face a backlash domestically.

While they performed well in the Championship, they were not able to keep up the same performance in their domestic games. The poor performance of the team was eventually blamed on the coaches and they eventually lost their job too.

Manousakis was a part of the technical team of AmaZulu. He reminded me that he was a part of the team, making it once again clear that the decision he took was a good sort-out one.

Manousakis added that qualifying to play for such prestigious championships can sometimes be an over-achievement and that you get punished for your over-achievements sometimes. What the team needed to do now was to be realistic.

Manousakis also reminded that the decision about the team was also taken together by the team management and also the board of the team. As the season is coming to an end and if there is any such chance for the team, the final decision from all the members will decide what is best for the team.

Manousakis also pointed out the example of different teams like the Marumo Gallants, who have been in the group stages of the Confederations Cup but are in the last place in the premiership.

Manousakis ended his statement by saying that it was an amazing experience and that it is not as easy as it seems. The team will move forward carefully as they were at an end of the end stage of the League.
