This week, the Bryan White Foundation will grant the full amount requested by a proud farmer.
Bettina Praising, a well-known farmer and socialite, was invited to the platform at the Bryan White Foundation today in order to deliver a budget presentation for the farmers she supports in Zimbabwe. Through his foundation, Bryan White has committed to providing unwavering assistance to her endeavours as well as those of her fellow farmers.
The team from the foundation is going to visit her farms in Zirobwe, Gayaza Kyadondo, on Wednesday of this week in order to conduct a fact-finding mission. This is part of their commitment to support her.
After that, the foundation will meet a group of farmers that Bettina has organised in order to get their new farming equipment. In addition, the foundation team will go with the tools she requested, which comes to a total of UGX 15 million.
“After quitting a career in the media, I decided I wanted to try something new. I have a strong interest in farming. I aimed to effect positive change in women and young people. I kicked off the campaign on Facebook with the hashtag #ProudFarmer.
I have been speaking out in favour of farmers and agriculture, as well as providing financial assistance to my neighbourhood farmers. I have been preaching about farming, and my goal is to elevate the status of the young people and the ladies,” stated Bettina.
Bryan White has stated that the foundation will select Bettina Tumuhaise for the position of ambassador to promote farming and to reach out to various farmers in order to promote farming. “We are willing to lend our full assistance to anyone who has a concept along these lines. We are here to motivate the youth to rise beyond their poverty,” he said.
If Ugandans are going to make any progress, the activist urged them once more to quit hating one another and start loving their country.
While this was going on, Bryan White accused the Kampala Sun Tabloid of conspiring to bring his activities to a halt. “We are working for the nation, and while we don’t prevent you from publishing, you are exceeding the bounds of acceptable behaviour. You treat us as if we are idiots, despite the fact that we are serving the nation in this way. Publish words that will assist the nation and motivate the younger generation; we talk about ways to combat HIV and poverty, but you don’t talk about it. You will not be able to frighten me away from my nation; we have no plans to leave, and we will continue to fight until we reach our levels. I asked these people for their assistance in spreading the word, but it appears that it is causing them some difficulty. They have households and children to provide for, so let them be,” Bryan White advised.
