Wait, what?!
Is Carole Baskin’s husband, who she claimed was dead, not actually dead? Did we hear it right?
The American animal rights activist Carol Baskin’s husband Don Lewis was allegedly dead whereas, the truth suggests something else. Lewis has been living in Costa Rica for a year, but nobody recognized him. He went missing in 1997 and it has been decades since Baskin met her consort.
The internet is going crazy over the demented news of Carole Baskin’s dead husband who feels like has returned from his grave. Lewis is now alive and is also in good health. Although we were quite late to notice that Baskin had previously revealed the return of her husband after years in a 2021 interview with ITV’s This Morning show.
Lewis was pronounced dead in 2002, several years after he went missing. Back then she stated that the Department of Homeland Security had been in touch with her former husband.
Unfortunately, the news didn’t garner enough traction at that time, but after a year, people have been getting to know about the existence of Carole Baskin’s husband who was once announced dead.
But, How Did They Find That Lewis Was Still Not Dead?
In the interview, she explained that they felt something strange when they noticed the letter from Homeland Security, as part of the Tiger King 2, explained that someone claiming to be a special agent at Homeland Security had approached George Fernandez, the detective.
Since there is no chance that it would have taken place before 2002 since there were no traces of Homeland Security since 2002, they assumed that something was not right.
After further investigation, she said she happened to learn about her husband who was living in Costa Rica, whom she thought was long dead. Her excitement was at its peak while talking about her husband’s coming back. She added that she did not think that Lewis would be capable of supporting himself one day.
For his living, Baskin had offered him a million dollars which he spent by carelessly investing on several platforms. She told in the interview that when she tried to recover the sum, only as little as $80,000 were left.

Although the entire incident had taken place sometime in 2022, nobody happened to have any idea about it. Thanks to the reach carried out by social media that the news has been going viral and attaining the attention that it deserves.
Even Baskin didn’t know that her husband was alive until the release of Tiger King 2 in November 2021. Apparently, it was a shocking moment for her to realize that the man she thought was dead was alive somewhere.
During the time when the popular Netflix docu-series were shot in 2020, Baskin opened up by saying her husband went missing one day suddenly in 1997. They were just married and thereafter, she heard literally nothing from him. So they eventually assumed that he was dead.
Has Carole Baskin Married Again?
A couple of years later, Baskin re-married a man named Howard Baskin. However, people began to point at her thinking she had some role in the sudden disappearance of her ex-husband as she moved on pretty quickly. Some others proposed certain theories which said that Baskin must have hired someone to murder him.
Obviously, Baskin was offended and she depended on a secret celebrity support group for assistance. Moreover, even Lewis’ family believed she was behind their son’s disappearance, and one day they even published an ad in the middle of her debut on the show Dancing with the Stars where they inquired whether somebody had seen their missing son.
In between the commercial, John Phillips, the family attorney, asked if the public knew where Lewis was or what must have happened to him. Additionally, he even asked if they think Carole Baskin had any involvement in Lewis’s disappearance.
But Baskin was self-assured and faced the issue with confidence. She denied what they said and suggested that the family was trying to display a cheap show before the public just for the sake of publicity.
She sent a letter to CNN explaining how she believed it was a publicity stunt, but she further added that if it would help them find her lost husband, then it would have been a help.
