Gotham City Sirens, The DC universe’s terrain is constantly in flux, and Warner Bros. Discovery has a diverse slate of movies and discoveries slated for release in the not-too-distant future. On Tuesday, James Gunn and Peter Safran took their responsibilities.
As co-chairs of the newly founded DC Studios. Providing a window into what the end may include. Following the first dissemination of the content, enthusiasts have been engaging in wild conjecture over future business opportunities.
Even though Gunn and Safran won’t begin their new responsibilities until November 1st. Fans have been thinking about Gotham City Sirens as a potential and long-awaited project for quite some time now.
Gotham City Sirens Finally Happening Under James Gunn DC Studios!
Gotham City Sirens, which was first conceived as a spinoff of the film Suicide Squad (2016) and has been in the works for a significant amount of time, is set to debut in the present DC cinematic universe.
The film would have been directed by David Ayer, who was also in charge of directing Suicide Squad, and Margot Robbie would have reprised her role as Harley Quinn. In the following years, they decided to shelve the project to focus on Birds of Prey in 2020.
During an initial conversation with Nerdist, Robbie disclosed the following: “While they used to be studying, they started to read Birds of Prey, and originally they fell in love with Huntress, and they began researching into all of that.”
When they were younger, they used to think, “Wow, there are so many amazing female DC characters, but nobody knows anything about them!” What if they allowed our audience to meet and fall in love with some of these incredible ladies and provided the venue for them to do so?
When they were thinking about the Gotham City Sirens, there were only three of us, and they were all well-known. However, in Birds of Prey, you could choose any grouping, so they thought it would be the best platform to start introducing some female characters.
With some legs in the DC Universe.
Will There Be A Follow-up Harley Quinn Movie In The Future?
Margot Robbie made her most recent appearance as Harley Quinn in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, which was coincidentally penned and directed by Gunn. Gunn also directed the film. Speculation about what will happen to Harley Quinn after The Suicide Squad has already begun.
Mainly because a Gotham City Sirens movie seems to be in production. Margot Robbie has made it clear that she has not even started to appreciate Harley, and she is still working on selling a concept to Warner that would match her with another member of the Sirens, Poison Ivy.
Conveniently, James Gunn said in a tweet earlier this year that incorporating Harley into another film was “not a horrible thought” and that he may be focussing on directing a Harley movie that stands on its own.
- Even if it ends up being the second season of Peacemaker or another DC project that Gunn is working on, it would surely be intriguing if it turned out to be Gotham City Sirens.
- Even if it ends up being the second season of Gotham City Sirens, it would undoubtedly be interesting. Even while it wouldn’t make the movie three that fans have wanted to see for a long time reality on screen, it may generate the “Birds vs. Sirens” trilogy that fans have been aching for.
Fans Have Been Anticipating It For A Long Time
It is conceivable that this will turn out to be Gotham City Sirens, but it is also plausible that James Gunn is working on the second season of Peacemaker or another DC project. Not only would it bring to life a cinematic trio that viewers have been dying to watch.
But it would also pave the way for the much-anticipated “Birds vs. Sirens” trilogy.
Viewers Have Been Waiting For Both Of These Things
Gotham City Sirens, which was first conceived as a spinoff of the film Suicide Squad (2016) and has been in the works for a significant amount of time, is set to debut in the present DC cinematic universe.
The film would have been directed by David Ayer, who was also in charge of running Suicide Squad, and Margot Robbie would have reprised her role as Harley Quinn. The project was put on hold in the following years to prioritize the production of Birds of Prey in 2020.
Many folks active on DCEU Twitter were not very enthusiastic about the prospect of Gunn becoming such a strong and probable contender for writing and directing a film adaptation of Gotham City Sirens.
Cathy Yan, the director of Birds of Prey, is the person they believe should be the next in line to manage Gotham City Sirens. They think that no one else is qualified to do so.
