Fans have eagerly anticipated the release of Fear Street Part 4 ever since the terrifying trilogy concluded its run on Netflix in July.
Leigh Janiak’s horror films were a moment in pop culture that jumped about in time to capitalize on the influence of earlier films in the same genre. These films were directed by Leigh Janiak.
Shadyside, the cursed village where Deena and her companions grew up, solidified its position as one of the most terrifying fictional settings to ever appear on television, and the movies acquired a devoted fan base among horror moviegoers.
There is also a tad bit of a cliffhanger at the end of both films, which means that there is an opportunity for more story to be told in the Killer Capital USA universe if Netflix decides to green-light other movies that are set in this universe.
Is there going to be a third installment of the Fear Street trilogy, and has it received approval from the streamer? This is what we currently know.
Will There Be Fourth Installment Of Fear Street?
Even though Netflix has not yet acquired any additional Fear Street movies, that does not imply that Janiak has not presented the concept of a franchise to the streaming service.
Janiak drew parallels between the possibility of a Fear Street universe and that of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in an interview with IndieWire.
The fact that the universe of ‘Fear Street’ is expansive and provides a great deal of room for exploration is one of the show’s most appealing qualities. Before I was hired, one of the things that I brought up was the possibility that we might establish a horror Marvel Cinematic Universe here, in which you could have slasher killers from a variety of various time periods.
This was among the topics I mentioned. There is a place for everything else in addition to the canon of our primary mythology, which is constructed on the idea that the devil resides in Shadyside.
Even if it is taken into account that the trilogy was supposed to be a summer event for theatrical release, the fact that it is now being distributed via Netflix means that there is even more potential for the universe to grow. Given how well-received the trilogy was, we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of making another trip to Shadyside.
Janiak is even aware of the location that she would most like to visit next. The ’50s. Does this imply that there will be a film that focuses just on Harry Rooker, also known as The Milkman? Possibly.
Even if the devil may have been vanquished in Shadyside for the time being, that does not mean that the universe cannot travel back in time to investigate some of the town’s most notorious murderers. Not to mention the fact that R.L. Stine has written a whole book series, in addition to spin-offs, that can serve as a source of inspiration.
The only thing we’re waiting on is for Netflix to recognize the show’s potential in the same way that Janiak, critics, and the audience do. Fear Street could go in an almost infinite number of different directions.
