The young country musician Colin Stough is returning for the 21st season of American Idol along with the judges Katy Perry, Luka Brayn, Lionel Richie, and host Ryan Seacrest.
American Idol 21 premiered on Sunday and the show featured the soothing performance of Colin Stough who mesmerized the viewers and the judges with his rendition of “Simple Man,” leading to three yeses.
“You got stardust,” said Katy Perry and approved him to Hollywood. It is a great honor to be recognized as a well-established singer on the stage of the longest-running singing competition. Although the winner is determined through public voting, it seems the path is easier for Colin Stough to become the title winner this season.
Who is Colin Stough?
Colin Stough is an 18-year-old singer who equally perplexed the American Idol 21 audience and judges on Sunday with his unique performance on the song “Simple Man,” which gained him millions and millions of fans over the night.
Colin Stough, who was an ordinary contestant until Saturday, became a global sensation after his audition clip was broadcast on American Idol 21.
He was featured in the Feb 19 premiere where he impressed the judging panel with his incredible vocal talents. But what is more enthralling is that the building star is only 18.
Following the audition, everybody remembers his name as the show heads toward the much-awaited Hollywood Week. Apparently, Noah Cyrus will be his mentor.
Colin Stough’s family
Stough is an aspiring musical artist who is one of the shining stars of American Idol 21. Hailing from Amory, Mississippi, Stough lives with his dearest mother Nara, his stepfather, and two pets.
Unfortunately, Stough doesn’t have enough talk about his biological father who had no influence on him ever since he was a child. Stough’s dad was a heavy alcoholic and a drug addict. He had no time for his family and that validates why Stough’s parents are not together.
Currently, the whole family resides at their grandparent’s home which is barely livable and the property has been with them for a while now.
Sadly, the teen has already been through a lot in his life, but it was always his love for horses that kept him awake and encouraged. According to him, American Idol might transform his life into a better one.

After his performance, Stough revealed that his mother signed him up for the show, and he further admitted that he also had to improve his living standards. Per Nara, Stough asked for his first guitar when he was 5 years old, indicating his passion for music has had a better and stronger foundation.
However, regardless of Stough’s density in the show, it is cent percent sure that he certainly has a long way to go.
Stough performed Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” at the audition
Among the hundreds of contestants from Las Vegas, Nashville, and New Orleans auditions, one of the praiseworthy performances was made by Colin Stough, who delivered Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man.” Luke Bryan was stirred by the breathtaking rendition of the track and he even complimented Stough saying he defines American Idol at its best.
Further, Katy Perry added that Stough had a kind of magic in him and it was quite audible for everyone who heard his voice. And in an instant, Stough got the ticket to Hollywood.
Apart from his own creations of country music, Stough prefers playing modern-day country music as well as the 50s and classic rock. In a conversation with the media, Stough stated that he got numerous friends from the audition “who were all out there for the same reason.”
Regardless of whatever describes a person, Stough found it was important to “go out and meet different people” and “hear their stories and listen to their music.”
Moreover, the forthcoming idol opened up about his dreams “to pursue something different.” Although coming from a small town, he wants to make sure that he makes use of his potential at his best.

Stough is dating a girl named Emma M Long and apparently, they have been together for a while now. Also, his social media has witnessed a string of pictures of the love birds in the past and they are still in a thriving relationship.
