Absolutely, Gilmore Girls is the greatest thing to binge in 2024. We’re enjoying a huge throwback to the past as the series is, happily, available on Netflix. The romantic lives of the lead characters, Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelei (Lauren Graham), were always on show for us to observe, cheer for, and critique. But, the actresses’ love lives—especially Alexis’s—were far more discreet off-screen.
Before settling down in 2012, though, Alexis dated a number of her co-stars. August 2022 saw the announcement of her and her ex-husband’s divorce. Since then, there have been circulating rumors of a Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants reunion and a Gilmore Girls comeback, which has given Alexis’s admirers hope. Jared Padalecki (2000–2001)
After years of fan speculation, Alexis Bledel and Jared Padalecki’s relationship was finally confirmed in a 2016 Life & Style interview, even though they had started dating in 2000.
Casting director Mara Casey of Gilmore Girls admitted, “We did have a joke about casting all of Alexis’ [real-life] boyfriends.” In the television series, Jared portrayed Rory’s first love, which was off-screen.
“It is true! But I had never met Alexis before the show. We did date,” Jared admitted to Glamour. “When Alexis and I met, we were both 17 years old and were both Texans and kind of in this new, strange city, and I was like, ‘Hey, want to go out to dinner?’ I don’t know if we tried to keep it a secret.

Chris Heuisler (2002)
With Chris Heuisler, a guest star on Gilmore Girls, Alexis Bledel carried on her tradition of dating fellow actors. “[Alexis] also dated a young New York actor named Chris Heuisler, who played a guest role,” Mara clarified.
Very lovely child. Sources claim that after meeting on-site, they only went on a quick date. He must have definitely stuck out to Alexis because they seldom communicated on TV!
Milo Ventimiglia (2003–2006)
Although Alexis Bledel had until now kept most of her boyfriends a secret, her relationship with Milo Ventimiglia was widely known. In Gilmore Girls, he portrayed her intermittent partner, Jess, while in real life, they were together continuously until June 2006, when they called it quits.
Midway through Season 2, the performers’ characters began dating, and it seems that they even talked about marriage. This is when they fell in love.
John Paul (2010)
After an alleged connection in September 2010, Alexis Bledel was only loosely associated with John Paul. A celebratory meal at Plein Sud’s at The Smyth Hotel in New York City included British model John Paul and Alexis in honor of Kate Spade’s distinctive scent. It was obvious that the two had broken up by early 2011.
Vincent Kartheiser (2012–2022)
While Alexis Bledel was a guest star on Mad Men Season 5, she had an affair with Vincent Kartheiser’s character, Pete Campbell, which is how she and Vincent Kartheiser first met. However, they didn’t begin dating until two months following the end of the filming.
They made their relationship public in October of 2012. In a private ceremony, they tied the knot in Ojai, California in June 2014. The majority of their relationship’s specifics, including the autumn 2015 birth of their first kid, were kept under wraps.
