Bonnie Raitt, the American blues singer with decades of experience in the industry wins the Song of The Year Category in the 2023 65th Annual Grammy Awards. She won the tile with her song Just Like That.
The other nominations for the category were Break My Soul by Beyoncé, Easy on Me by Adele, All Too Well by Taylor Swift, As It Was by Harry Styles, abcdefu by Gayle, About Damn Time by Lizzo, The Heart Part 5 by Kendrick Lamar, and God Did by DJ Khaled. Bonnie Raitt received the award from Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States of America.
In her award acceptance speech, she said that she was inspired by the song by the incredible story of the love and the grace and generosity of someone who donating their loved one’s organs to save the life of another individual.
She continued that the story was so simple and so beautiful for the times and people have been responding to the song partly because of the love that everyone has for John Prine and that was the inspiration for the music of the song, that was the art of telling a story from inside.
