Lily Tomlin – Early Life
Tomlin was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 1, 1939, as the daughter of Guy Tomlin and Lillie Mae. She had a brother named Richard Tomlin.

The Search For Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, which was written and directed by Jane Wagner, was a one-woman Broadway production that Tomlin performed in 1985. In 1989, she did her second movie, Big Business alongside Bette Midler.
She appeared in The Magic School Bus, an animated television series from 1994 to 1997. She made an appearance in the Murphy Brown TV sitcom during the same period. She played the role of Margot in the hit comedy Will & Grace in the seasons 2005-2006.
