Ai Yazawa is the creator of the Japanese comic series Nana. It was serialized in the monthly shojo manga magazine “Cookie” from May 2000 to May 2009, before going on hiatus. Nana Osaki and Nana Komatsu are two young females who move to Tokyo at the age of 20. The story follows Nana O.’s drive for fame and Nana K.’s pursuit of romance, all as they struggle to keep their relationship intact.

Nana Komatsu, a 20-year-old woman, moves to Tokyo to be nearer to her friends and partner, Shoji. She’s vulnerable to falling and breaking in love quickly. Because of her devotion and commitment, Nana O. refers to her as Hachi.
Nana K. has 2 kids with Takumi in the current timeline, Ren and Satsuki. She stays in Japan with Satsuki in the hopes that Nana O. would come to the house where they lived together.
