Who is Rae Carruth?
Rae Lamar Wiggins who is popularly known as Rae Theotis Carruth was born on 20th January, 1974 in Sacramento, California. Rae Carruth is a former American football wide receiver, and convicted murderer.
Rae Carruth was selected in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League, soon after playing college football in Colorado, and was there for almost 3 years.
Rae Carruth was found guilty in 2001 of plotting and planning murder of the girl Cherica Adams, who was his girlfriend at that time. Also, she was 8 months pregnant with his child.
He was released on 22nd October, 2018 from the Sampson Correctional Institution in Clinton, after serving 18 years of an 18–24-year sentence in the North Carolina State prison system including pre-trial confinement.

Cherica Adams, Rae Carruth’s girlfriend, died after a month of being shot 4 times in 1999. Their child was miraculously saved, but suffered permanent brain damage and cerebral palsy because of the attack.
“I’m apologizing for the loss of her daughter. I’m apologizing for the impairment of my son,” Carruth told WBTV. “I feel responsible for everything that happened. And I just want her to know that truly I am sorry for everything.”
Carruth has shown an interest in raising up his upon his release.
“I should be raising my son. His mother should be raising her son,” Carruth said. “Ms. Adams should not be doing this and I want that responsibility back.
“I feel like he might not ever have his mother in his life but he could still have me and I could still make a difference and I don’t think that’s anyone’s responsibility when I’m still here.”
Rae Carruth will have to go through the check in time to time with the law enforcement for 9 months.

Rae Carruth played 3 seasons in NFL for panthers, before this conspiracy. In 1997 he had a respectable rookie season and started 14 games. His jersey number was 89 and he was named to the all-rookie team at wide receiver.
