Karitas Karisimbi All About Ugandan Radio Jockey

Karitas Karisimbi is Ugandan Next media services’ NXT radio and NBS TV personality. She hosts the chart room on Sundays at 8 pm and a morning programme on NXT radio alongside Marcus.

Karisimbi became famous for anchoring WBS TV’s Showtime Magazine in the early 2000s.

She presented it for three years before joining Sanyu FM and then joining Capital FM where she was among the staff that hosted the breakfast show together with Gaetano and Olanyah.

Karitas Karisimbi: Early Life And Education

Nnalongo Karitas Karisimbi was born in Mulago Hospital. She grew up in the ghetto of Kamwokya and she is a Rwandese by the tribe.

The firstborn of her eight-sibling family died in a liberation war that brought the NRM administration to Uganda. Karitasi’s single mother baked chapatti to sell to gain money due to financial pressures.

Karisimbi intended to be a lawyer but became a presenter.

Karisimbi studied elementary school in Nairobi, Kenya. She rejoined East of High Kololo and Namugongo in Uganda. She attended City High, Royal College, and Hillside International.

She was smart and got a scholarship to an international school. Family finances prevented Karisimbi from attending university.

Karitas Karisimbi: Career

After senior six, she worked as a waitress at Hotel International Munyonyo, when Elvis Sekyanzi of club Silk asked her what she wanted to do.

She informed him she wanted to be a presenter, and at the time, Teddy, the host of showtime magazine, was returning to London, and WBS had no one to replace her.

Elvis connected her to WBS TV and she passed a screen test to host the showtime magazine.

During this time at WBS TV, she started working at Sanyu FM although she didn’t last long at the station. She quit Sanyu to focus on the radio since TV kept her too busy to prepare.

Timothy helped her join Capital FM after three years at WBS TV. She hosted the breakfast programme with Gaetano and Oluanyah after starting with an evening show at capital.

She left the station in 2006. Karitas Karisimbi took a sabbatical to have a family, became pregnant, and had twins.

After leaving mainstream media, Karisimbi founded K-files and produced a reality show on Bobi Wine and his family for Bukedde TV in 2010. The show showed Bobi Wine’s life offstage. The chat room was her 2018 show idea.

Karisimbi wanted a show like Oprah Winfrey where she could sit down with guests and speak about their problems, so she created the chat room. She pitched NBS TV, which premiered the Sunday night chat room show.

Karitas Karisimbi: Personal Life

Karitas Karisimbi is the mother of two twin boys whose father is a Nigerian businessman. Karisimbi stated they’re not dating anymore but their children are.

Karitas Karisimbi: Controversies

Karitas Karisimbi was a close friend of Bebe Cool and his wife Zuena Kirema, when Zuena left Bebe Cool in 2008, a rift developed between them. Bebe Cool accused Karisimbi of influencing and fueling a misunderstanding between them.

Karisimbi replied that she only aided Zuena who ran to her for help, but she could not resist assisting her dear friend and old friend and offered her a job at her production firm.

Bebecool said Karisimbi took her wife Zuena to Goodlyfe, where Mowzey Radio allegedly started dating her. After a heated on-air dispute with Ronnie, Karitasi Karisimbi left the live show and the station.

Ronnie apologised but Karisimbi was moved to the morning show she hosts with Marcus.

Radio was rumoured to be dating Karisimbi at the height of his career, but the relationship ended and he later dated Lillian Mbabazi.
