Other sites are rushing to launch their version of the popular service as it is in trouble with the government and is likely to be banned in the country.

YouTube is no exception, it has now introduced YouTube Shorts, a new short format experience with clips of 15 seconds or less.

YouTube Shorts features new creative tools including a multi-section camera, speed controls, a timer and a countdown feature like TikTok.

Like TikTok, videos can also be set to music, thanks to YouTube’s great song library. Shorts users already have access to a library of hundreds of thousands of songs from the T-Series and Believe Digital, but the company is also expanding the list for more songs with artists, labels and publishers.

The multi-section camera allows the user to attach separate clips, so you can create videos without having to hold your phone. It is said that YouTube will also introduce the ability to swipe vertically via YouTube shorts, similar to TikTok.

Shorts are being released for the first time in India  as TikTok has been banned since the end of June. Some users in the United States have announced that they have seen a new feature in a new section of their YouTube homepage , but users who do not have it can start tagging their short videos as #Shorts in less than 60 seconds in title or description.

This market is rapidly crowding. Besides YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat have short video features and exclusive sites like Triller , Dubsmash, Byte and others. It should be interesting to see who can wrestle existing users of TikTok, or whether even users are interested in another platform.

Regardless of the site above, short-format videos seem to stay here.
