Tom Brady Divorce: QB Could Lose $200 Million

The divorce of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen is near, but there are many questions regarding what will happen to their fortune.

According to a interview with divorce expert Karen Jeary, an associate solicitor at Mayo Wynne Baxter, it is likely that the former Patriots player owes his wife a lot of money.

Given that Tom' s estimated worth $400 million, and that under U.S. matrimonial law that assets should be split 50/50 hopefully.

Why might Tom Brady owe Gisele Bündchen $200 million?

Tom had the foresight to enter into a pre-nuptial agreement with Gisele to protect his pre-acquired money as much as possible, Jeary said.

Once this analysis is true, and the quarterback's estimated fortune is correct, Brady might owe Bündchen roughly $200 million if the divorce is completed.

Brady's estimated fortune is based in part on the earnings he's earned throughout a 23-year NFL career in which he's won seven Super Bowls and received an extremely substantial salary.

Even though Brady and Bündchen haven't made their breakup official, it's been said that they wouldn't mind sharing custody of their two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9.

Lawyer Karen Jeary warned the couple to consider how a divorce may effect their children, especially if it becomes public.

The famous couple fought over TB12's choice to return for his third year with the Buccaneers after regretting his retirement declaration last offseason.
