If you filed your 2021 tax return between January 1 and July 31, 2022, the Department of Taxation should have already sent your direct deposit rebate.
Those due paper refund checks got them or will by October's end. Tax returns submitted after July will receive refund checks 10 to 12 weeks later.
Virginia residents must have had a tax liability for tax year 2021 in order to get a one-time tax rebate of $250 for single filers and $500 for joint filers in 2022.
If you filed tax by September 5 and were qualified, you should get your rebate by October 31. This refund is only available until November 1, 2022.
