Pizza Hut Is Selling Pizza Slices With A Twist

Beyond its personal pan pizzas, Pizza Hut is making strides toward a more personal customer experience.

Pizza Hut Melts, a new item on the menu, are the chain's version of single slices for customers who don't want to order a whole pie.

The new option, which costs $6.99 per slice, is two slices of Thin N' Crispy pizzas folded together.

It is filled with toppings and cheese, and baked until "melty perfection," creating a calzone-like meal.

Pizza Hut said in a press release, "Unlike most pizza dishes, Melts were made for a pizza party of one."

"This means that guests can enjoy the delicious taste of pizza without having to order a whole pie, whenever and wherever they want."

The slices come in four different kinds: pepperoni, buffalo chicken, chicken bacon Parmesan, and meat lover's. You can dip them in marinara sauce or ranch dressing.

In 2014, Pizza Hut tried selling slices on their own. But the idea didn't catch on outside of the few places where it was tested at the time.

Pizza is a competitive market, and customers' tastes often change based on deals and new menu items. Melts will be available to order starting Tuesday.
