Pennsylvania $650 To $975 Checks: Who’s Eligible?

Pennsylvania residents who are eligible for a property tax or rent rebate in 2021 will receive a one-time bonus rebate later this year.

The bonus rebate is 70% of the initial amount. Claimants don't need to do anything to get one-time bonus rebates.

If you have already submitted your refund application for the 2021 claim year, the Department of Revenue will handle the rest.

You will get your one-time bonus rebate in the same way that you received your original rebate (by cheque or direct deposit).

The rebate programme is available to qualifying Pennsylvanians aged 65 and up, widows and widowers aged 50 and up, and those with disabilities aged 18 and up.

Half of Social Security income is exempt for homeowners and renters. Spouses, personal representatives, or estates can seek rebates for 2021 residents who meet qualifications.

The maximum regular rebate is $650, however qualifying homes can receive additional rebates up to $975.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is one of five programmes funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Since the program's start in 1971, more than $7.3 billion in property tax and rent relief has been provided to older and disabled persons.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate application help is free from the Department of Revenue, local Area Agencies on Aging, senior centres, and state legislators' offices.
