Massacusetts $100 to $1000 Tax Refund Checks: Who’s Eligible?

Money worth thousands of dollars will be sent to Americans beginning tomorrow, owing to $3 billion in funding.

This will be available in Massachusetts as a result of Chapter 62F, a 1986 law that caps the state's tax revenues.

The maximum crisis benefit authorized without the approval of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) is $750.

After reviewing Massachusetts' net tax revenues, state auditor Suzanne Bump discovered that they exceeded the legal limit.

Massachusetts earned net tax collections of over $42 billion for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.

As a result, the $2.9 billion surplus will be returned to taxpayers. The law has only been activated once before, in 1987.

According to a report by a local news outlet Boston 25, the direct payments will begin to be distributed on Tuesday.

Anyone who paid personal income taxes in Massachusetts during the fiscal year 2021 is eligible for a refund.

Who is eligible?

You must file a 2021 tax return to get your share of the money. The initial filing deadline was October 17, 2022.

The amount you get will be determined by your unique personal income tax liability for the fiscal year 2021.

How much will you receive?

This is the amount payable to Massachusetts in 2021, after any credits have been applied and before anticipated taxes and withholding.
