Maine $850 Check Deadline On October 31st: Who’s Eligible?
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of residents will each get a holiday gift of $850 in the form of a check in the near future.
You have until the end of October in the state of Maine to submit your application in order to receive the $850 payout.
As inflation goes up, people in Maine and other states are paying more for energy and more for everyday things.
From the $729.3 million surplus, these payments will be made to almost 858,000 people who live in Maine.
To be eligible, people must file their 2021 Maine individual income tax return by Monday, October 31, 2021.
If you are single or married but filing separately, your federal adjusted gross income (FAGI) must be less than $100,000.
FAGI must be less than $150,000 for a single person or less than $200,000 for a married couple filing jointly.
Governor Janet Mills
wanted to give some of the money that was left over in the budget to the people of Maine.
They will be sent to the address that is listed on your tax return and will be in the form of $850 direct checks.
