LA County $1000 Checks For 3 Years: Who’s Eligible?

300 people in Los Angeles County will get $1,000 every month for three years as part of a new pilot program.

The program is called TAYportunity, and 300 young people between the ages of 18 and 24 will be chosen at random.

For residents to be eligible, they must be getting help finding work through the General Relief Opportunities for Work Program (GROW).

GROW will help young people who get General Relief benefits by giving them services through the TAYportunity Program.

Many young people haven't had many chances for an education or a career and confront challenges like homelessness. This program aims to change that.

Its goal is to help the chosen group get jobs, apprenticeships, or start their own businesses while training to learn new skills.

"These young people have overcome so much to become strong and resilient. They need to use their skills and talents, just like us. Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis said.

""Giving them a guaranteed income could be the key to letting them reach their full potential," she said.

There is not a definite response to the question of when the payments will initially start being delivered.
