Inflation Relief: 3 States Will Send Stimulus Checks
There are three states in the U.S. that will be able to grab relief payments. All of them have until October 17 to file their taxes and get a chance to get these payments.
Since there won't be a fourth stimulus check, many states have come up with their own ways to help people deal with inflation.
Most of these states are doing different things to help their residents. From direct payments, rebates, or increasing tax credits.
Other states have used budget surpluses to help the needy. At least nine states will obtain tax relief in October, with three having a deadline of October 17.
Firstly, Illinois. This state sent direct relief payments of up to $300 starting in September 12.
Which states still have a chance for this relief payment?
Taxpayers will also receive a $50 rebate, while joint filers will receive a $100 rebate. Families with dependents can get up to $300.
Rhode Island is another state that might benefit from this relief. This state's eligible residents can get a child tax rebate of up to $750.
The final state is Maine, where residents can receive a rebate of up to $1,700 per average household.
Single persons earning less than $100,000 per year are eligible for this rebate. Couples earning less than $200,000 are also eligible.
Illinois citizens cannot earn no less than $200,000 per year, and couples cannot earn more than $400,000 per year in order to get the relief. The filing deadline for taxes in each of these states is October 17.
