California Gas Rebate Checks: Are You Eligible?

Checks for gas rebates will start going out to people in California next week. The direct deposits will be made between October 7 and January 20, 2023.

After going down for 14 weeks, gas prices are going up again across the country and here in California. Now, though, assistance is coming your way.

The average price of a gallon of gas in California is now $5.79, which is almost 35 cents more than it was last week. Prices are also going up in most of the Valley.

The average price for regular unleaded gas in Fresno is $5.67 per gallon. That's about 28 cents more than last week and almost 40 cents more than a month ago.

The average price per gallon in Merced County is now $5.66, and the average price per gallon in Tulare County is now $5.63.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed California's budget for 2022-2023 in June, which includes direct payments of $350 to $1,050 for 23 million individuals.

According to information provided by the California Franchise Tax Board to Forbes Advisor, payments are scheduled to begin being distributed on October 7.

The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) will give out stimulus money through direct deposits and debit cards.

If you received the Golden State Stimulus via direct deposit, you'll get your tax refund by direct deposit between Oct. 7 and Oct. 25.

Otherwise, if you filed your 2020 California tax return electronically and got a refund by direct deposit, you can expect a direct deposit between Oct. 28 and Nov. 14.

You should obtain your Middle Class Tax Refund on a debit card between Oct. 25 and Dec. 10. All debit card payments will be issued by January 15, 2023.
