ANCHOR Property Tax Rebates: Are You Eligible?

Residents of the state of New Jersey have been told about the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) scheme.

With the new ANCHOR program, which will replace the Homestead Benefit program, more people will be able to get rebates, as millions of residents will be eligible.

Murphy said, "ANCHOR gives homeowners and renters real property tax relief. This will make New Jersey more affordable."

"we fully funded the program in its first year, providing direct relief to over 1 million homeowners and 900,000 renters," Murphy added.

The two most important criteria for eligibility are a person's income and whether or not they own their own home.

The official website for the state says that more than 870,000 homeowners with incomes up to $150,000 will get $1,500 in relief.

Over 290,000 homeowners with incomes between $150 and $250,000 will get $1,000, and more than 900,000 renters with incomes up to $150,000 will get $450.

You can file your taxes online, by phone, or by mail by December 30, and checks or direct deposits will be sent before May 2023.

Craig J. Coughlin: "When all levels of state government worked together, we passed the most innovative property tax relief programme in our state's history."
