Alabama $200 Checks From $2 Million Surplus: Who’s Eligible?

Alabamans should expect checks in the mail shortly because they will soon receive a $2 billion surplus.

The state of Alabama might well be distributing checks next year as a result of a revenue surplus in 2022.

According to the Alabama Policy Institute, the state government brought in more than $13 billion in revenues for the fiscal year 2022.

Senator Arthur Orr indicated that the rebate may provide each taxpayer with $150-$200. Married couples filing jointly may be eligible for twice the amount.

Justin Bogie, senior director of fiscal policy at API, told WTVY: "We've witnessed this unheard-of increase in revenue.

One Alabama-based energy company is providing clients with up to $200 in relief checks.

Other Rebates In Alabama

Alabama Power customers must purchase their smart thermostats by December 1, 2022, in order to be eligible.

Duke Energy, a utility company based in Indiana, is offering credit to customers who are having trouble making their payments.

Other Rebates Available

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that over 300,000 New York households are eligible for credit from a $567 million pool. California is also offering rebates of up to $1,050.
