4th Stimulus Check Deadline To Claim $400 In 5 Days

Thousands of Americans are eligible to receive relief checks worth at least $400, but the application deadline is less than a week away.

The New Mexico Human Services Department will accept applications from eligible low-income people until Friday, October 7 at 5 p.m.

The legislature's approval of the relief measures totaling $10 million allowed for the distribution of the fourth stimulus package.

"Many low-income New Mexico families have suffered significant economic and personal losses," Angela Medrano, Deputy Secretary of the HSD, said.

Angela Medrano also added, "These funds will assist those in our communities who require additional finances to feed and house their families."

HSD Communications Director Marina Pia told: "Depending on the number of eligible applications, the funds can be distributed accordingly."
