A woman named Dorris has publicly accused Donald Trump of sexually abusing her at the 1997 US Open. In an exclusive interview with The Guardian Amy Dorris accused Trump of grabbing her several years ago at a New York City tennis tournament and forcing his tongue into her mouth.

  • Dorris says the incident happened when she was 24 when she went to New York with her then-boyfriend.
  • Trump’s lawyers have denied the allegations and raised questions about Dorris’ motives.
  • The legal team says his new allegations are politically motivated just 7 weeks before the election.
  • Dorris told The Guardian  that she was considering coming back with the story in 2016.

Dorris has joined over a dozen women who have over the years charged President Trump of sexually abusing them. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign has denied the allegations, calling Dorris’ account “completely false.”

Is Trump sexually abusing Dorris politically motivated?

Dorris says the incident happened when she was 24 when she went to New York with her then-boyfriend Jason Pin, who was then a friend of Trump. The real estate mogul invited the couple to his box on September 5, 1997, at the US Open.

Dorris provided The Guardian  with several photos together, including a picture of himself with Trump outside the scene of the alleged attack.

Dorris says she left at one point in the lounge beyond a partition wall in Trump’s box. But when she came out of the closet, she says Trump was waiting for him. She says he hit her.

“He moved his tongue down my throat and I pushed him away,” he told The Guardian. “Then it tightened his grip and his hands were so bitter and my butt, my breasts, my back, everything.”

“I felt violated, frankly,” she continued. “But I haven’t processed it yet. I’m trying to talk to everyone and have a good time because I don’t know, I felt it had to be that way.”

But Dorris was not completely silent about the incident in the following years. The Guardian confirmed that she had called a New York friend and her mother immediately following the incident.

Later, she told some additional trustees and her therapist that they had all confirmed Dorris’ account to The Guardian. She did not, however, report law enforcement, which is not very suspicious. After all, 70% of women who endure sexual abuse never report it to the police.

Meanwhile, Trump’s lawyers have denied the allegations and raised questions about Dorris’ motives. The president’s legal team asked why Dorris would spend time with Trump in the next few days, attending other events together with her boyfriend.

Dorris responded by insisting that she was in the city “without money” and “could not go anywhere.” After all, her boyfriend was friends with Trump, who already enjoyed powerful celebrity status in New York.

Also, Trump’s lawyers questioned how the attack could have taken place in a private box where the others were, and why Dorris did not report the attack to police. Finally, Trump’s legal team says his new allegations are politically motivated just seven weeks before the presidential election.

However, Dorris told The Guardian  that she was considering coming back with the story in 2016. But she decided not to speak at the time, partly out of fear that it would harm her family.

These days, Dorris still doesn’t feel safe , but says the story can no longer be kept secret because “people need to hear this.”

“It’s sexual assault and that’s not okay,” she stressed.
