In the interim, he recorded the theme song for the film American Anthem, “Take It Easy” (US No. 24). On the song and video, former Missing Persons members Terry Bozzio and Patrick O’Hearn played drums and bass, respectively.

After completing the album with Canadian Engineer/Producer Mike Fraser, they toured Japan and the United States to promote the album.
Taylor and the other original members of Duran Duran regrouped in 2001 to produce their first new song since 1985. The group signed a new recording deal with Sony Records. Their subsequent album, Astronaut, had a combination of Taylor’s powerful guitar and the typical Duran Duran synth hooks. The first single, “Sunrise,” peaked at No. 5 in the United Kingdom, while the album peaked at No. 3. (No. 17 in the US).
